Greenway Flats
Greenway Flats is a 4-story, 65-unit apartment building that provides permanent supportive housing for the chronically homeless in Colorado Springs. The building was designed to help these men and women transition into a sustainable lifestyle. The first floor includes a communal dining area, community spaces for meetings, computer stations and community partnering offices. The remaining floors feature the 65 studio apartments. Each 400 SF unit features an open living area, built-in storage, a kitchenette with an induction cooktop, a refrigerator, a microwave and an enclosed bathroom. Community garden planter beds were built into the private backyard for tenant use. This project was built through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program.
